Visual Voicemail is Currently Unavailable: Several users have said that they can’t use Visual Voicemail. When they try to check their Visual Voicemail messages, they get an error message that says “Visual Voicemail is currently unavailable” and a button that says “Call Voicemail.”

This is a big problem because until you fix it, you won’t be able to get to your voicemails. This article tells you what to do about it.

Please try the following steps. Before moving on to the next step, check your voicemails again after you’ve tried each step.

Visual Voicemail is Currently Unavailable

Sync your iPhone

Please make sure that your iPhone’s iOS is up to date. If not, update your device. Here’s how to check for updates and how to update if you need to:

Go to Settings, then General, then Software Update.
Your device will look for new versions.
If an update is available, tap Download and Install and then follow the instructions on the screen.

Airplane Mode

This can help you get out of trouble quickly. Please do the following:

Open the Setting app on your iPhone.
Activate “Airplane Mode.”
Wait a minute or two.
Stop using “Airplane Mode.”
Now, open the Phone app and try to listen to your voicemails. Does it now work? If not, try this instead, which is a little bit different:

Restart your iPhone

Open the Settings app after the phone has restarted, and then turn off Airplane Mode.
Change the password for your voicemail
Some users have said that this problem can be fixed by changing the voicemail password. Here’s what you can do:

Go to Settings > Phone >, scroll down, and then click Change Voicemail Password.
Type in a new password and then click “Done.”
You will be asked to type in the same password again. Type it in and press the “Done” button.
Now, open the Phone app and see if you can now see your voicemails.

Reset network settings

If turning on “Airplane Mode” doesn’t fix the problem, you might need to reset your network settings. Please keep in mind that when you reset your network settings, you will lose all of your networking data, like Wi-Fi passwords and VPN settings.

But your information, like photos, apps, messages, files, and videos, will be kept.

To reset your iPhone’s network settings, go to Settings > General > Reset, tap Reset Network Settings, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

If this problem keeps happening, you might want to talk to your carrier. Visual Voicemail is a carrier feature. There could be trouble with the network.
